On the 20th of January, several events were held in Oxford to show our solidarity with Americans protesting the Trump administration, and to demonstrate our commitment to fighting fascism in our own communities. I was able to go to two of them and take photos.

#bridgesnotwalls event was held in Radcliffe Square, including several banners and signs, and a wall made of cardboard boxes that was knocked down! Radcliffe Square was beautiful in the winter sun, and everyone had fun.

Stand Up To Racism

Stand Up To Racism‘s protest was smaller, but in the city centre underneath Carfax Tower, so lots of people saw it. They are holding a national demonstration for UN Anti-Racism Day on the 18th of March that will be bigger. A LOT bigger!
